Dr. Buckmaster and his team work tirelessly to help patients of all ages, genders, and species. We work with people and farm/working animals to achieve wellness using safe, pain-free, holistic methods.
Dr. Buckmaster
After attending Montana State University, Dr. Travis Buckmaster began his initial studies of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) at the Kibbutz Gadot in Israel. He returned to the US to study at the International Institute of Chinese Medicine, where he received his master’s degree in 2000.
He completed residency training in China at the Chengdu University of TCM and the Beijing Hospital of TCM. He apprenticed under the former lead acupuncturist at Acupuncture Center, Dr. Bruno for twelve years.
ACUPUNCTURE IN THE US
Dr. Buckmaster has been deeply involved in the development and regulation of acupuncture in the United States for many years, serving as a Director on the Boards of American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, Oregon Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and the American Board of Animal Acupuncture.
As he has worked toward creating better, effective acupuncture for everyone, he found that patients in the U.S. have been missing out on the health benefits provided by traditional Chinese herbal remedies. That’s why he has created his herbal pharmacy. This is a collection of over two hundred safe, rigorously tested and scrutinized herbs which can be combined to benefit the health of his patients. The herbal pharmacy is just one of the many improvements which sets Acupuncture Center apart from other acupuncture clinics.
OREGON’S OLDEST ACUPUNCTURE CLINIC
The Acupuncture Center was created by Dr. Gene Bruno in the 1970s. After Dr. Bruno built the clinic, he looked for a student he could train to whom he could pass the clinic over upon his retirement. Dr. Bruno picked Dr. Buckmaster and worked with him so that he could transfer the clinic in the traditional fashion, using the Chinese custom of Lao Shi (teacher) to Xue Sheng (student).

ACUPUNCTURE FOR EVERYONE
Acupuncture is now covered by most insurers. However, we have many cash patients and patients who have been coming to us since the clinic first opened. That’s why we provide a cash discount for those patients 70 years or older. Our goal is to help you, your family, and your friends achieve the best possible health using gentle, natural methods.
